The Indie Horror Film Festival!

The Indie Horror Film Festival returned from the dead in 2010 with hopes of swallowing mortals whole and filling their souls with a thirst for blood and horror.  The Indie Horror Film Festival screens films from all over the world and brings the best of blood, gore and horror to the big screen for you to enjoy!

Due to the ongoing health crisis along with state and local regulations, our 2020 event has been scheduled to take place online September 4th - 18th!

5/11/2020 COVID-19 UPDATE:

I am writing today to notify everyone that after a lot of consideration, due to the status and enforcement of the Illinois Governor's 5 stages to restore Illinois, that today we have officially made the unfortunate decision to cancel our physical event and host our festival online exclusively for the 2020 season due to the ongoing COVID-19 health crisis.

I have partnered with the developer FestiVee to offer a secure online platform to host our event. (Who we highly recommend to any other festivals out there seeking online solutions).

Some important notes for everyone involved:

  • The festival will run online September 4th till September 18th.
  • We will host our awards presentation online also. More info on that will be coming after selections are made.
  • For any filmmakers that are selected but are not able to include their films in the online festival due to distribution agreements preventing it: These films will still be included in the awards competition in all categories. For those filmmakers who are not able to screen online, we will invite them to make a video talking about their film, the people involved and letting people know where they can see it. We will put this video on your online festival page in place of your film.
  • All filmmakers who have films selected will be encouraged to make a video up to 5 minutes long talking about themselves, their film and those involved. We are able to add these videos as a post roll to follow your film every time someone watches it. This will hopefully offer a form of networking and the opportunity to let people know how to get in touch with you. These videos are optional, but offered for your own benefit.
  • One positive part of this change is that we will be able to include more films than we would in the physical event.

If you have any questions at all regarding this update or anything at all, please do not hesitate to reach out to me by PM on the Indie Horror Film Festival Facebook page.

Thank you all for your understanding and patience during this crazy time.
